Cancer Warrior - Not Good
Sorry I’m late in posting this, but I was pretty sick yesterday and just couldn’t find the energy to put together a blog before now.
Not sure what exactly did it, but Thursday started out okay, but then for whatever reason, I got busted guts. Spent nearly every fifteen minutes in the bathroom and probably managed to dehydrate myself … hence the reason I felt like sh*t (no pun intended). By 5:00 in the afternoon, it was all I could do to drive myself home. Went to bed around 6:00ish and slept pretty much straight through the night. I’d called the clinic Thursday when I started going downhill and managed to get a space in the infusion area for a fluid top-up this morning. Can’t tell ya how much better I felt after that. Not 100%, but hey … 80% was far better than I was.
It was not a pleasant experience. Don’t know if it was a delayed reaction to the “CCFH” (chemo cocktail from hell) part two, or what. Don’t think it was anything I ate and certainly didn’t have the flu. Still not up to par, but far better than I was.
On a side note, I weathered the second treatment of the CCFH fairly well. Dr. Mac put me on steroids for five days and that pretty much carried me through … I think. Neuropathy is a little worse and I mentioned that to Nurse Judy today. She said she’d talk to Dr. Mac about that and perhaps adjust my dosage. Neuropathy is not pleasant. My feet (mostly my toes and halfway up) are fairly numb or have that tingly feeling and my fingertips are numbish. Not good when you do a lot of typing and are trying to pick up small objects. Hopefully we can avoid any further damage. But other than that (and the usual fatigue), treatment two was tolerable.
And remember to repeat after me …“YOU ARE A CANCER WARRIOR”

Thanx, Edie. I’m at the point where I’ll take all the hugs I can get. Feelin’ better today and even managed to do a number of necessary errands. Now its after 9:00 p.m. and I’m ready to crash. Love being able to sleep in in Sundays … puppy willing. I think I’ll make John take the pups out in the morning. Little darlin’ is doing a sleepover.
